Howdy ya'll, its been
awhile since we have updated everybody on what's been happening. We have had
a pretty busy year, I have healed up pretty good from my injury and have
been back to driving a little and writing some new tunes. Back in the month
of May I got to be on a couple of radio shows in Enid, Ok, KOFM 103.1 and
KEIF 104.7 the Rocket then we went to Nashville and did a promo video which
will soon be available for viewing online.
During that time I got to be on XM radio channel 171 with
friends Marcia Campbell and Greg Martin, from there went to Alexander City,
AL and did a TV show called the Barnyard Jamboree on WAXC/WETV and was also
on Kaw Liga country radio and that was alot of fun (Thank You Kenny Dean).
We also visited Talledaga super motor speedway while we were there. Then
June 5th thru 8th we got to go to the CMA music festival in Nashville where
we signed autographs in the OHANA MUSIC GROUP booth and also took part in
the OHANA showcases at the famed Douglas Corner and The Blue Bar what a
blast that was (Thank You Kimo Forest and the many others who helped).
During July I joined up with some local musicians Pat Holden, Roy
Low and Gary Stillwell now known as The Honky Tonkers. August 2nd I made my
first visit to the GRAND OLE OPRY (WOW) got to go backstage even got my
picture taken in THE CIRCLE (CHILLS<THANK YOU Marcia). August 3rd I once
again had the honor of being on XM 171 with my friend Marcia Campbell and
that evening I got to be on 650 WSM with Malcom West and Larry Weekly (Thanx
guys). The rest of August me and the Honky Tonkers played clubs and
festivals on weekends.
September was not so good I lost my hero and one of my
biggest fans, my Daddy. We all miss him very much, I regret that I did not
get to sing on the Opry while he was still around but I believe I'm gonna
get there and when I do I'll sing one for him.
Well here we are in October my birthday month and me and the
Honky Tonkers are working all week and pickin' on the weekends. My wife
Donna along with her nanna Bertie, my mother Pauline and I are headed back
to Nashville the 18th thru the 20th going to visit the Opry, Marcia, Malcom
and Larry and have a birthday party at John A's. Ya'll tune in to XM ch 171
at 9 a.m. on Sunday mornings if you can and check out Trucker Talent
Spotlight its a whole lot of fun. Well thats it for now GOD bless you all.
Thanx, David Paul.
